Hanging with millions of my friends from afar

So living in the DC metro area I was asked repeatedly if I was going to go down to the Mall and witness history.

There where a few issues with this.

1. I had to work.

2. They had more or less shut off access to DC unless you wanted to walk or go into the city at 3AM in the morning.

3. It was cold.

So I decided to spend the day at work. I did watch the swearing in and what not by putting the coverage up on the projector we have in our converence room. God bless the internet right. I actually had someone ask me if I was in DC because they could hear the News coverage in the background. My response was “No, butl I have this neat little thing called the internet”. (psst I work for an ISP). Anyway I watched history in the comfort of my office with co-workers. I was within 8 miles of DC so I was just as close as some of the folks at the Mall and I didn’t have to deal with crowds and cold weather.

On a side note the commute into work and back home was the Best ever. It only took me 13 minutes where it normally takes 45 to 50.
